What to Expect: Do we even need to talk about this game anymore? We've already mentioned how great it looks and how much fun it is to play. What else do we need to say? Well, just in case you've been living under a rock for the last few years, Bethesda's take on the Fallout world is immediately captivating. Taking place amid the bombed out ruins of Washington, DC, the game lets players wander the wastelands, fighting bandits, helping survivors and running from mutants. The variety of story elements the character encounters is truly staggering, and where Oblivion and Morrowind seemed to suffer from too much content, things seem much more focused this time around. Best of all, the turn-based strategic combat option, which we so thought we were going to hate, has actually become one of our favorite features.

The wait to explore the nuclear wasteland of post apocalyptic Washington D.C. will soon be over. Earlier today, Bethesda Softworks announced that their anticipated RPG, Fallout 3, has gone gold and will be available in stores and online on October 28 in North America, October 30 in Europe and Australia, and October 31 in the UK for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Games for Windows. Set more than 200 years after a nuclear war, players create a character and explore the wilderness while fighting against dangers like Super Mutants, Ghouls and Raiders.
