Something I was thinking... Ony is supposed to be a November anniversery gift to the players... does this mean Ony herself wont be "upgraded" till november event ?

The Wow 5th anniversary falls on Nov 13, so im quite confident 3.2.2 wont be until within a week of that

Whether or not Aion is successful, most people agree that it is unlikely to be a WoW-killer. Aion is unlikely to have the wider appeal of WoW, and WoW will probably only be killed by time and patches like 3.2 - or Blizzard's second MMO.

WOW will probably be killed when the new Blizzard MMORPG hits.....or if WOW chooses to commit suicide.

2) AOC
3) Warhammer online

(not even bothered to list AION.....)

P.S: not a WOW fanboi, just that realisticly speaking it will take more than that to knock WOW off..and besides i've been to korean mmorpgs before...muthafarking grindfest....and BOTS!!!...THE BOTS!!!!

The fact bots still exist in WoW is something people just seem to glance over because its only relavent to other MMO's.

I agree that nothing is going to kill WoW at this point other than itself. It's not because its a great game, not even hardly, but because it used to be one and attracted enough people to serve as an engine to keep it alive. People won't leave because there are enough other people already that it'd be outside their comfort zone, especially given the amount of time they've put into their characters over time.

I do have to digress from this though to mention that Aion isn't a LOTRO, AOC or Warhammer. Unlike any of them, Aion was released in NA a year after it was created. It's been beta tested, essentially, by Koreans and Chinese who've had it for that time. So unlike those, people who sign up aren't experiencing any of the same damning flaws that those games had in the first few weeks, which may have lost them potential subscribers for life.

But as I've stressed over and over again, nothing needs to kill WoW, it only needs to compete. And to be honest, given Blizzard's seeming lack of care for creativity (re-use of same models, terrible uninspired armour design, boss tactics, boss ease, releasing Onyxia again, etc), they could use competition. Why people are so against that I have no clue, it can only lead to Blizzard working harder

thats cos it can hardly be seen anywhere in WOW not unless u scrutinise like a nuclear scientist

pop on to any korean mmorpg.....its BOTS....here there everywhere....maybe not for AION now....but for me
when i was in GE after my hiatus from TBC...i log on lvling with BOTS....and the whole damn map is filled with it
its like a whole swarm of BOTS moving in unison....kill mobs and loot...auction by itself even

So wad u do?...u page a GM.....takes a century for it to come on and kill the bots....might not be a fair comparison...but i like the fact that WOW has a GM always on to look into ingame matters...with Korean mmorpgs...its just hardly there...for GE at least...i dunno about AION...but after that experience...i swear i'll stay clear of any Korean MMOs.....
