Kiting now in WoW is but a shadow of the painful kiting days of Everquests. In those days, any equal level mob can 3 hit a ranger to oblivion, a ranger can easily spent 20 minutes + kiting anything worth killing. I remember kiting a sand giant (around lvl 30s) around the edge of the level 10-15 crocodile zone. It took me 20+ minutes to root, snare, run off, shoot, rinse, till suddenly some idiot in the newbie zone pulled the giant and wiped the zone. Everyone blame me and I was like ... never mind, to save my reputation, I stop playing the ranger and rolled an ogre shadowknight.
