| Abilities may still change before launch, but this is what I've gleaned so far, from various articles and gameplay. Please feel free to comment. WarriorStrengths: Durable, versatile due to access to weapons Weaknesses: Melee, can be kited Main handSword: DoTs, movement Axe: Burst DPS Mace: stuns, dazes 2-handedGreatsword: AoE for PvE Hammer: AoE, control, good for PvP Rifle: range DPS Long bow: range AoE, but slower than rifle Off-handWarhorn: movement, AoE buff/debuff, good for PvP Shield: stun, defense/movement, good for PvP Axe: good for generating Adrenaline because of multiple hits Mace: ranged debuff Sword: mix of dps/defense RecommendationsDPS: Axe+Axe Tank: Hammer or Mace+Shield for control, Sword+Warhorn for mobility PvP: Axe+Warhorn or Shield More info here: http://www.teamquitter.com/viewtopic.php?p=395532#p395532

| ThiefStrengths: Bursty single-target DPS, mobile: ideally, you should take down mobs before taking dmg Weaknesses: Squishy! Go range (shortbow or pistol+pistol) in big/long fights 2-handedShortbow: AoE, good for kiting, poor DPS for single target Main hand + Off-handDagger+Dagger: highest melee DPS, control Dagger+Pistol: DPS, versatility, good for PvP. Pistol+Pistol: highest range DPS, noob-friendly playstyle Pistol+Dagger: good for kiting, mobile Sword+Any: Lower DPS than dagger, and Infiltrator's Strike takes you out of melee range RecommendationsPvE: Shortbow or Pistol+Pistol for big fights (melee = dead), Dagger+any for up to 3 mobs (if you're surrounded by more, run!) PvP: Dagger+Pistol or Dagger+Dagger, Shortbow More info here: http://www.teamquitter.com/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=26553Will try out this build for max crits. I call it 'Chop Chop don't waste time', double daggers, double pistols: http://www.gw2tools.com/skills#t;NpaSa;Xeacbeaaaeaaaaa;bbYY;bZVTY

| ElementalistStrengths: AoE, versatility through attunements Weaknesses: Squishy! Somewhat difficult to play, as knowing WHEN to switch attunements in combat is a science. This is NOT your WoW mage. 5 skills x 4 attunements = 20 skills at your disposal, at any point of time, and this is not counting different skills from different weapons! Some skills are redundant, some attunements offer things that others lack ... complex! AttunementsFire: DPS, movement Water: Control Air: Control/DPS, movement Earth: Survivability Main HandDagger: short range, low recharge, fast activation, point-blank area effects Scepter: medium range, moderate recharge, area effects Off-handDagger: short range area effects Focus: utility, support 2-handedStaff (Both Hands): long range, long recharge, slow activation, big area effects and group support RecommendationsSolo PvE: Scepter+Focus for range and versatility, Dagger+Dagger for Thief-like play (quick DPS but fragile as hell) Group PvE/PvP: Staff for big but slow AoE, Dagger+Focus for speed More info here: http://www.teamquitter.com/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=26067

| NecromancerStrengths: Very durable, with Death Shroud (2nd life bar). Probably as durable as the Warrior. Weaknesses: Somewhat low DPS, low control Main hand Axe: low range, fast damage (aggressive) Scepter: long range, damage, utility (supportive) Dagger: low range, health sacrifice, life stealing (defensive) Off-hand Warhorn: Daze, life stealing (aggressive), good for PvP Focus: condition removal, Chill & Vulnerability (supportive), good for groupwork Dagger: Blind, Regeneration (defensive) 2-handed Staff: long range, area damage More info here: http://www.teamquitter.com/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=26343 | |
