Every patch comes with new opportunities for money making.
Here are some tips from what I've been observing of all the new releases on the PTR!
1. Stock up on blue quality gems and enchanting mats. With every content patch, people will be getting a lot of new gear off the bat and will want it enchanted. The most popular gem to stock up on is probably going to be Twilight Opals, with the release of the Agi + Stam gem which a lot of feral druids might be replacing their slots with, given the fact their stamina has been nerfed. Jewelcrafters, you may or may not want to save up tokens to be able to buy this recipe straight away.
2. It's quite possible to sell the enchants directly now in the form of vellums (from your local inscriptionist!), the best sellers are the ones that appeal to multiple classes and audiences.
- Icewalker to Boots
- Greater Spellpower to bracers
- Stats to Chest and Bracers
- Greater Assault / Crusher to Gloves
- Greater Savagery to 2H
You get the idea!
3. Flasks! People will be raiding again, content that isn't already outgeared by them! While EF and BS will probably breeze through it, there are a lot of guilds who will be trying to progress. Flask prices have fallen a lot recently so save up and sell them throughout the week of release.
4. 3.1 is also introducing a bunch of new pets to help people out with the achievements.
A lot of people tend to get discouraged at not being able to reach the required number to meet the achievement requirement and end up not buying pets at the moment, which has lead to the fall of prices of the pets from the Mysterious Egg (apart from the protodrake pet). If you get any tickbirds or cobra hatchlings, hang onto them. This goes for random drop pets like the Whelplings in old world, Slime, Firefly, etc. Their value may shoot up with 3.1 (it is speculation after all!).
5. Ebonweave, Spellweave and Moonshroud. Seriously. Save it up. New epic pattern releases for clothies which are pretty awesome. People will want these to make them. Arctic fur prices may escalate a little as well, since LW's are getting some too, but they're not as amazing at first glance. Titansteel will probably go up a little as well but considering it's price hasn't moved much since release, I wouldn't bet too heavily on it going drastically up.
6. Save up on inks and hope our inscriptionists discover some of the new good ones! Convert them to glyphs and sell them on the AH!
Potential hotsellers will be
Warrior: Glyph of Shield Wall
Rogue: Glyph of Envenom
Death Knight: Glyph of Disease
Druid: Glyph of Nourish, Glyph of Wild Growth
Also, remember that with dual-spec, a lot of people will be looking for glyphs for their secondary spec! Save up on the current popular ones for each class!
If you have any tips, add them here!
